Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same. – Emily Bronte
There are so many things we could say about Rachel and Avery. While they might be young, these two are some of the most mature people we have ever met. The true meaning of humble and kind. Their love literally brings silence to a room, so of course you know we were looking forward to their wedding!
11/11 started out as a beautiful sunshiny day. They choose to get married at Averys grandfather’s house as he has a picture perfect barn surrounded by a few acres of lush green grass and gorgeous tall trees. Unfortunately mother nature took a turn for the worst when it began to rain. The fog rolled in and their big day was on the verge of being completely paused. Now at this point, most couples would lose their cool, get upset or angry, try and completely cancel the wedding! But not these two. Rachel and Avery stayed positive and said “Rain doesn’t matter, get me down that aisle!”. So that’s what we did. And what do you know, as soon as their guests started to sit and the bridal party began walking towards the ceremony, the rain stopped. They had close to 200 guests in attendance that smiled and cheered as Rachel and Avery committed themselves to each other for eternity. Powerful was not the word.
They chose to wait to see each other until the ceremony and when Avery finally saw his bride he could not hold back his tears. The emotions he let out during the ceremony are so telling of their love. Everyone could see it. Feel it. It was something magical. The kind of magic that only Carrie Bradshaw understands. “Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can’t live without eachother love.” Editing this wedding was a new experience for us as it reminded us why we shoot weddings. We do this so that we can capture and be apart of the magic that love gives us. The love that everyone deserves to experience at least once in their lifetime. Rachel and Avery not only found this but decided they wanted it forever.
After their ceremony was over, and we spent time taking their absolutely perfect intimates, we headed back to the barn to celebrate. I don’t think we have ever seen that many people on a dance floor all night! This group knows how to party. Super cool detail about their wedding was that Rachel’s dad was in a band in highschool. Rachel’s dad is still friends with his band mates. Rachel’s dad and bandmates STILL PLAY! So what better way to celebrate than playing at his daughter’s wedding. So Shadowfax made a special appearance and rocked the house. It was awesome.
This was certainly a wedding we will not forget. Huge thank you to Mari and John Battista for trusting us to capture their daughters wedding. We had the best day, with the best family, and we are so excited to see what the future has to hold for all of you!
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Welch!
